I placed a cfc bulb in it and the lamp drooped from the weight. A regular bulb worked perfectly. The arm extensions move every direction for pinpoint delivery of light. The on/off switch was poor, it was difficult to switch the light on but easy to switch it off. It is a less than optimum on/off switch.
