Customer Rating: Summary: Good Practice Sword Comment: After buying a few katanas from this site awhile back, I quickly realized that I needed a practice one to hone my technique so that I would feel more confident when it came time to handle a real one. I decided that this bokken katana would suit my needs. It recieved many positive reviews and it was also cheap. It arrived in less than a week and I immediately fell in love with it. I was amazed at how similar this sword felt compared to my real ones. Before I bought this sword, I couldn't get my real katanas to sing when I swung them, but afterwards, I feel much more confident in handling them and they sound like they are supposed to. This sword is excellent for practicing swings and other techniques such as stances. I would not recommend it for sparring sessions, though, as when I hit a low ceiling while practicing one day, I slightly damaged it (Nothing major, just a small chip, and the ceiling took most of the damage anyway). One major complaint I have is that the cord on the handle has begun to unravel after frequent use, making the sword difficult to use once my hands become sweaty. Still, I recommend it because it allows me to become more comfortable when using my real katanas. Use with any regularity more often then extrememly light results in the "cord wrap" sliding around and falling off; leaving a a very sticky glue film behind. Customer Rating: Summary: Mostly for (cos)play Comment: I have just ordered one and after reading the other reviews, I'm satisfied that I made a good choice. Right now I'm not into practicing with it (since this is the only thing I could get at this price and certain people I live with wouldn't currently approve of me practicing swinging this thing around). It's basically for play (or cosplay) for Comic Con as something that can look like a sword in in it's scabbard. Since I'm not going to be hitting things with it, I feel happy that I ordered from Sword Demon.
