It's pretty much exactly the same as the original battery that came with my Motorola Razor V3C. Instead of buying a new phone with strings attached, buy a new battery. Customer Rating: Summary: Helpful info on batteries Comment: I already have been using the BR50 and they do have a crappy charge time. I use this phone at home and found keeping it in a double charger (a charger with 2 slots, one for the phone to charge and one slot behind it to charge another battery), that this prolongs the life of the batteries if I keep changing them out and recharging.
Well now I need to replace them because all the batteries seem to be dying fast (after over a yr's use on all 3 batteries).
I read that switching to the new BR56 gives you a bit more capacity and life in the battery. I was concerned if this battery was thicker which would mean i need a new battery back-plate for the phone. (as it turns out the batteries are the exact same size so no need for a new back cover).
But in the process of this research, I found a nice little blog page that attemps to explain some battery details to us regarding our razr's and their battery needs. So I thought I'd share this link and ya'll can pass it around to others as it may help answer any questions-
the BR56 is a bit more expensive than the BR50 but not much, plus we have to consider that these batteries, no matter if they say "new" or "original" (no matter whether you buy some here or on ebay) are no where near the cost they are on motorola's site, which leads me to wonder if their batteries are more expensive, but do last much longer overall. Either way, I'm sticking with the cheapies! Customer Rating: Summary: Works just like the OEM Battary which came with phone Comment: Battery works just like the OEM battery. I simply removed the old battery and put this one in it's place. Then I gave it a full charge and used it. The first charge didn't last long but then during the next three subsequent charges (after fully draining battery under normal use) battery lasted longer. Doesn't get any simpler than buying an OEM battery for replacement of OEM battery.
