Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent for star gazing Comment: We purchased this to use for pointing out stars. It works beautifully, even on the clearest nights. It is easy enough to use that even my 7-year old child can accurately point at a star and ask what the star is, or trace out a constellation that she has learned. The batteries last a surprisingly long time; it's been over a year of regular use (including several sessions of more than an hour continuously), and we haven't changed the batteries once. I also recommend getting the book Find the Constellations by H. A. Rey -- one of the best introductory stargazing manuals around; you & your children will love it.
